Workshop for Allographic

  • CUC Wine Bar The University Centre, Granta Place, Cambridge CB2 1RU United Kingdom (map)

Finding your way into a poem and what to do when you get there.

Once in a while, everyone struggles with getting their writing started, or just as annoyingly: finds themselves stuck in it! So we can all benefit from a few fresh ideas and approaches every now and then.

RikTheMost absolutely LOVES playing around with words and imagery! And he would relish the opportunity to share and explore a few different and interesting ways of generating content for poetry, with you. This workshop looks at the use of wordplay, extended metaphor, rhythm and performance as compositional devices.

Come with pens, paper and passion, and see what gets created!

Also, if you feel like it – you are welcome to bring along a poem you are creating, or are in the process of editing, or just can’t seem to finish because some of the techniques discussed may well help unlock it – and, even if they don’t, Rik is happy to discuss and try to work it out with you!
