Spoken Word Poetry with RikTheMost at The Hatch - Leigh-On-Sea

  • The Hatch 65 High Street Leigh-on-Sea, England, SS9 2EP United Kingdom (map)

RikTheMost has been away touring New Zealand, Australia and America for the last few years so you won't have had a chance to see them! But they are back in their hometown of Leigh-On-Sea until the end of August and are putting on this special one-off show at The Hatch before they jet-off to tour in Australia again.

There will be a limited open mic section at the beginning of the night (MESSAGE RIK IF YOU WISH TO GET ON THIS), followed by a short break and then a feature set from Rik.

For those that don't know - RikTheMost has numerous accolades within the spoken word world, having been commissioned by the BBC, represented Australia at the American World Team Slam Championships, placed 2nd two years in a row at the New Zealand Individual Slam Finals and been granted a Talent In The Arts Visa to travel and share their skills!

Rik's inimitable lyrical stylings cojoin intricate word play and interesting rhythmical speech with a deep consideration for philosophy, emotion, communication and many of the other amazing and horrifying facets that make us human.

Tickets are available on EventBrite now, and if there are any remaining, will also be available on the door... but this show is expected to sell out so please buy in advance to avoid disappointment!

ACCESSIBILITY:

The venue is wheelchair accessible via the side of the venue, though I have been told there is "a bit of a bump". Inside of venue is all on one level.

Their toilet is not currently listed as accessible but the owner has told me they are looking into that and so it may well be changed by the time of the gig. However, there are public accessible toilets at Bell Wharf which is five minutes away and The Olde Smack Pub which is two minutes away.

It should be noted that the roads in Old Leigh are cobbled but there is a pathway alongside it and there is parking next to the venue.
